My birthday boy

It's my mans 31st birthday today and of course we're celebrating this all day long!
This morning I treated him with breakfast in bed, pink roses and some gifts:

a coffee table book about actress Louise Brooks (he's got excellent taste)....

Pinup + Dogs

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts! I have been knocked out by a nasty case of bronchitis and almost coughed my lungs inside out...I'ts getting better every day now, but the cold temperature outside is not the best environment for my throat so I stay indoors as much as possible (which is not too terrible, considering I got unlimited access to movies and chai tea...).


I need your help!

I'm working on a very exciting article about pinups and dogs. Gil Elvgren is known for often putting a mischievous little puppy in many of his pictures, dogs often appeared in commercial pictures in the 40's and 50's and the phenomenon is continuing in modern days with projects as Pinups for Pups for example.

I would like to hear your theories why pinups and dogs goes hand in hand (paw)?

Yes Ladies, Swimsuits for All!

Large size swimwear is not the easiest thing to find...

I came across Plus Size Swimwear, a great source for swimwear up to a smashing size 32! Some very cute retro inspired pieces and everything is really affordable. I really like the variety, everything from seperates to one-pieces in a million different colors and patterns. They also offer special swimwear from women who's done a mastectomy (yay!) and also athletic pieces.

Another thumb up for the use of models with "real" sizes!

Back home

Back from Good Ol' England! Had a wonderful week with shopping, seeing my lovely friend Rascal and much much more. Unfortunately I brought home more than just clothes and trinkets, but also a nasty flu.

I'll give a better travel report when I'm on my feet again!

I'm off

Packing my suitcase, leaving the dogs to their doggy sitter, prepairing for one week of excitement... Because I'm off to London now!

I'm going to do so much fun things (visit British Museum, Imperial War Museum, markets, have afternoon tea at the Ritz and best of all; I'll get to see my precious friend Rascal.

I can't wait to see her!
